The Kogi International Carnival will not only celebrate Kogi’s history but will also be a feast for the senses. The carnival will be divided into four cities and four arenas, each featuring an immersive experience of the state’s unique aesthetics and traditions. Visitors will witness the vibrant costumes of 10,000 youth performers and 1,000 children in colorful attire, all showcasing the intricate designs and artistry that represent Kogi’s cultural diversity. The festival will bring together Kogi’s rich music, dance, and art, with performances by 2,000 calisthenics artists and cultural troupes from across the state.
Each city will offer a distinctive experience, with traditional music, dance performances, and exhibitions of local crafts, food, and art. Visitors will have the opportunity to savor Kogi’s unique cuisine, from pounded yam and egusi soup to local delicacies that reflect the state’s agricultural bounty. The arenas will be buzzing with energy, as artists and performers put on mesmerizing displays that tell the story of Kogi’s people, their struggles, triumphs, and their hopes for the future

The following components highlight the core features of the carnival, each designed to showcase Kogi State’s cultural wealth and create lasting impressions on visitors.
At the heart of the Kogi International Carnival are four distinct carnival cities, each offering a unique cultural experience that celebrates the state’s diverse ethnic groups and traditions. These cities will feature exhibitions of local crafts, traditional music and dance performances, and regional cuisines that will highlight the cultural richness of the Ebira, Igala, Okun, and other ethnic groups in Kogi State. Visitors will be immersed in the vibrant colors, sounds, and tastes of the state’s cultural heritage, providing an authentic and interactive experience that fosters unity and appreciation for Kogi’s cultural diversity.
The carnival’s four arenas will serve as hubs for major performances, parades, and artistic displays. These arenas will host live concerts, theater productions, dance performances, and art exhibitions, all powered by cutting-edge staging, lighting, and sound systems. They will be the focal points for large-scale performances that highlight Kogi’s artistic talent and creativity.
Vibrant parades will unfold across 150 key roads throughout Kogi State, transforming streets into lively avenues filled with colorful floats, dancers, marching bands, and cultural performers. This street-level celebration will bring the carnival’s festive atmosphere to every community, showcasing the dynamic spirit of Kogi’s people.
